Jeffrey is a director, audio artist, and sound designer with Audacious Machine Creative, creators of such incredible podcasts as Unwell: A Midwestern Gothic Mystery, World Gone Wrong, and their newest show, The Harbingers. We sat down to explore a cursed monument and witness the death of a group of explorers in Chiron’s Doom by Nick Bate.
Horror
Stories designed to frighten and terrify.
479 – MERGER with John Rogers
John is the creator of Leverage and Leverage: Redemption, as well as The Librarians, Jackie Chan Adventures and more. We sat down to play MERGER, a solo RPG about trying to survive in a world of living predatory corporations (which, in addition to being an apt way to describe living in 2026, is literal in this case–massive, soul-consuming eldritch horrors given flesh).
474 – The Time We Have with Elliot Davis
Elliot is the designer of some of my favorite games, including Project ECCO, which we played on the 400th episode of the show. We sat down for a truly heartbreaking game of The Time We Have, a TTRPG about two brothers on opposite sides of a door, staring down the inevitable amidst a zombie apocalypse.
CW: Grief, trauma, familial terminal illness, body horror
470 – Hunt(er/ed) with Cate Osborn
Cate is an author, podcaster, ADHD educator & advocate, kinkster and Shakespeare nerd. She hosts Sorry I Missed This, an everything guide to ADHD and relationships, and her new book, The ADHD Field Guide For Adults, drops in March. She’s also running vampire games at literal Castle Dracula as one of the GMs of Danube of the Damned, which is one of the coolest sentences I’ve ever gotten to write.
We got deep in the weeds on backyard concerts, monsters, lost identities, and tense showdowns between hunter and hunted in HUNTER(ER/ED) by Dillin Apelyan and Meghan Cross.
467 – Apocalypse Keys with Kieron Gillen
Kieron is the writer behind some of my favorite comics, including Young Avengers, Journey Into Mystery, and The Wicked + The Divine. His latest works include The Power Fantasy, about the six superpowered individuals with the power to singlehandedly destroy the planet, and Die Loaded, the sequel to his incredible comic book/RPG combo Die, about a dark fantasy roleplaying game come to life.
We sat down for some monstrous superhero mystery in Apocalypse Keys, about the demonic agents of a massive organization tasked with stopping the end of the world. DIVISION is calling, monsters. Do you answer? Or will you become the Harbinger youself?
SPECIAL EPISODE: Party of One Says Go Birds – 002 – Work/Life/Work/Life Balance with Jadzia Axelrod (LIVE)
Jadzia is the writer of Galaxy: The Prettiest Star and Hawkgirl: Once Upon a Galaxy, and the longtime host of The Voice of Free Planet X (Jeff’s favorite podcast of all time).
We sat down to spin up a delightfully supernatural 70s superhero comic book in Work/Life/Work/Life Balance by Rudo Judo games.
Recorded live at Unity Java in Philadelphia, PA!
459 – Disposable Bags of Meat with Chris Farnell
Chris is the author of the Fermi’s Progress series, a darkly comic sci-fi adventure about a spaceship doomed to obliterate every planet it takes off from. The latest novel, Fermi’s Wake 4. Overview Effect, just released, and you get it on sale now. We sat down for a delightfully horrifying Fermi-themed adventure in Disposable Bags of Meat, a horror TTRPG about unprepared, ordinary people surviving against impossible odds through luck, grit, and determination.
458 – Candlelight with Felix Bishop
Candlelight is a role playing game about the restless spirits of treasure hunters reckoning with their dark past and seeking hope in a haunted forest that wants to trap them there. I sat down with actor and TTRPG performer Felix Bishop to wander into the wood, and discover the fates that await our characters…
456 – Elegy with Laura Tutu
Laura is an award-winning Actual Play performer, known for her work with Queen’s Court Games on a range of incredible shows, including The All-Night Society and Harlem Hellfighters Never Die. We sat down for some top-tier weird vampirism in a game of Elegy, a solo vampire RPG inspired by Ironsworn.
