This is an episode with an emphasis on action scenes, big setpieces, and the like.

460 – Mirror Match with Jackson Adams

Mirror Match is a role-playing game love letter to fighting games. Players create warriors based on shared themes and origins before facing off in arena combat. Inspired by two-player fighting games, sessions see new characters constantly enter the fray and the game provides scaffolding to create your own universe of mad ninja, shotgun-toting wizards, dragon-gods, and more. All of those characters will face off in the viscera-soaked court of Bloody Mary and only you can decide how they’ll fare in her wicked gaze.

I sat down with the game’s designer, Jackson Adams, to see the game in action.

454 – Catch Me If You Can with Mike Rugnetta

Mike is a longtime writer, host, producer and sound designer, who has been working in digital media since 2007. Currently, he hosts Never Post, a member-supported, employee-owned podcast about and for the internet, and GMs Fun City Ventures, a fully sound designed cyberpunk narrative play RPG podcast set in a post climate catastrophe New York City, in the year 2102. We sat down to engage in the cat and mouse drama of a criminal and investigator in Catch Me If You Can, to try and answer the question:

451 – See Issue X with Third Person

Third Person (Matt, Sara, and Xen) are the trio of writers/performers behind Midstone of my actual favorite audio fiction shows of all time. I love Midst so much in fact, that we decided to turn Party of One into… Party of Three for an episode to get to share a table with them. We sat down to play See Issue Xa solo RPG about superheroes and the incredible absurdity of comic book continuity. Get ready for the epic showdown between Captain Cardboard, Mirror Man, and Humanity!

447 – Scene Thieves With Taylor Moore

Taylor, beyond being one of the funniest humans I know, has worked on some of my absolute favorite podcasts, including Worlds Beyond Number and Fun City. We sat down to play Scene Thieves by Possible World Games, telling the story of a band of 80s Cronenberg-esque shadowrunners stealing a top-secret super-drug the only way they can: By staging a Norman Lear-style message play about “Is It Possible to Forgive Someone for Selling Out?”
